Sign is a unique, gesture based speed dialer for Android which lets you call or text your friends by simply drawing a gesture (signing) directly from your home screen.
Unlike other speed dial options such as direct dial icons or quick dial widgets, you don’t have to worry about accidentally calling somebody just because you inadvertently bump your phone’s screen. Sign is still extremely fast, fun, easy to use, and best of all, you decide how to activate a text or phone call. Simply assign a gesture to any contact. To make a call or text, all you have to do is activate the widget and Sign right from your home screen. Simple and secure, it’s easy to use without even looking at your phone to find contacts or phone numbers.

Sign Lite (free) allows up to three (3) contacts to be assigned.
Enhanced gesture recognition uses a custom-designed gesture recognition system to more accurately and consistently identify gestures. Sign uses a customized, exclusive process of evaluating gestures to minimize the potential for mis-recognition, and implements several other advanced features to prevent accidental calls common with direct dial icons or other quick dial widgets. Other speed dial apps and quick call widgets initiate calls after touching the icon, even if it’s accidental or inadvertent when using the phone. Inputting a gesture instead of simply tapping an icon greatly reduces the potential for accidental calls. Sign has a minimum gesture threshold which must be met before making a call.
Sign also has several additional built-in measures to prevent misdials including an adjustable dial confirmation (which can be turned OFF or be set up to 4 seconds) as well as allowing contact selection in the event Sign recognizes multiple contacts from the input gesture.
